An Official Telluride Film Commission is created . . .
March 2009
Telluride, Colorado
With the generous support of local businesses and the Telluride Tourism Board, an official Telluride Film Commission (TFC) was created in March 2009. The purpose of the commission is simple:
• Promote the Telluride region to the film industry as an affordable and accessible site for on-location filming. This includes commercials, feature films, television shows, and still photography.
• Serve as an advocate of the Telluride region by increasing revenue from the film industry for local businesses and residents.
• Serve as an advocate of the film industry by creating incentives to film in the Telluride region. This includes tax exemptions, competitive location fees, discounted lodging, experienced crew, etc.
Telluride has already attracted countless production companies, drawn to its unmatched natural beauty and its limitless supply of undiscovered locations. The Telluride Film Commission will serve to further the promotion of Telluride to the film industry, nationally and internationally, as well as assist production companies with all their needs when they choose to film in the Telluride region.
Tim Territo of Telluride On Site Productions, who has over 20 years of experience as a location scout and assistant director, is responsible for TFC's daily operations, assisted by Ted Wilson, an experienced production coordinator. Telluride Town Manager Frank Bell and Telluride Town Councilmember Thom Carnevale assist TFC by acquiring support for film productions from local government entities, as well as working with TFC to initiate incentives for on-location filming in the Telluride region. Scott McQuade, CEO of the Telluride Tourism Board, assists and supports TFC’s marketing strategies.
Thanks to everyone who supports the Telluride Film Commission and special thanks to our local business friends, whose generous donations of funds have made the commission possible.
Stay tuned for more updates as the cameras roll in Telluride. In the meantime, please contact us with any questions!
Cheers,
